Sheffield Wednesday striker Stevie May has not ruled out an upset this week when the club take on Manchester City in the Capital One Cup.

Stuart Gray's side head to the Etihad Stadium for their third-round clash against cup holders City on Wednesday full of confidence after just one defeat in 10 matches in all competitions this season.

"This game has been there for some time but now we can finally really look at it," May told the club's official website.

"It's a big game for us and we're not going into it thinking we are beaten already.

"Everyone will be desperate to play, we'll work hard, stick to our jobs and yes, it's one to look forward to.

"We know it's going to be a tough, tough game but cup upsets do happen, we've seen it many times before."

May, on target for Wednesday on Saturday in the 1-0 win over Reading, feels the club's fans can play a crucial part at the Etihad.

He added: "The fans have been outstanding, they are loud and vocal and it was nice to score that goal in front of such a big crowd.

"The away support has been a credit to the club and that's a big thing here, the fans are that good."
