Rooney Rule: Gordon Taylor claims football has 'hidden racism'

Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor says that "there is a hidden racism which holds clubs back" when it comes to appointing black managers.

Taylor believes managers should be employed on "merit," but wants an "open and transparent" recruitment process.

Taylor wants to see English football adopt the Rooney Rule, which is used in the NFL to ensure black and ethnic minority candidates are adequately represented in the interview process for head coaching positions.
