Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven dropped points for just the fourth time this season on Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw at FC Groningen.
PSV looked set to restore a four-point lead over Ajax when Luuk De Jong put them ahead (57), but Michael De Leeuw rescued a point for the home side with seven minutes left.
Cambuur Leeuwarden secured a come-from-behind 3-1 win at FC Utrecht and sit sixth.
Ruud Boymans opened the scoring for Utrecht but Martijn Barto, Bartholomew Ogbeche and substitute Dejan Meleg turned things around.
Second-bottom Heracles also won 3-1, picking up a third victory of the season against ADO Den Haag.
They too came back, with Mathias Gehrt having put ADO ahead. After that Oussama Tannane, Thomas Bruns and Tannane again completed a turnaround.
FC Twente are in third after a 2-1 success at PEC Zwolle.
Ryan Thomas scored the opener for Zwolle 28 minutes in, but a brace from Luc Castaignos (39 and 80) earned Twente the win.
