John Carver has denied swearing at Newcastle supporters during Saturday's home defeat by Swansea.

Carver got involved in an exchange with fans as a seventh straight defeat left his side just five points clear of the Premier League's relegation places.

The Newcastle manager has admitted telling one supporter to "come and see me after the game and I'll explain why I'm doing what I'm doing", but he denies using foul and abusive language and says he was not agressive.

Speaking after the game Carver acknowledged Newcastle are now in a relegation fight and said: "Yes, I am getting stick from the crowd and I can take all that.

"I’ll take that on the chin, I’ll explain to people why I do things - I don’t have a problem with that.
