Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein has confirmed he will continue his bid to become the next FIFA president.

Sky Sports News HQ understands that at least one FIFA presidential candidate is expected to withdraw before the vote on 29 May.

It is understood senior figures within European football are debating whether to recommend only one challenger against Sepp Blatter on the ballot paper in Zurich, and consolidate the number of votes behind one candidate to face the current FIFA president.

Prince Ali is challenging Michael van Praag, Luis Figo and Blatter for the head of world football’s governing body.

In a statement, Prince Ali of Jordan has reassured voters that he will “continue the race until the end".

The statement added: "Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein reaffirmed on Monday he will continue to run for the FIFA presidential elections, taking place at the end of this month, especially after the supportive and positive responses from the football federations he visited in different countries, and the warm welcome his manifesto has received worldwide.

"This comes after some tweets on social media claiming Prince Ali's intentions to consider withdrawing from FIFA elections to back a single challenger against Sepp Blatter."
