England's players couldn’t hide their joy after their extra-time victory over Germany to clinch third place at the Women's World Cup.
Mark Sampson’s side recovered from their agonising semi-final defeat to Japan with their first victory over Germany - the top-ranked side in the world and the pre-tournament favourites.
Captain Steph Houghton spoke of her pride at leading her country to the bronze medal, while Karen Carney and Toni Duggan also added their delight.
Sampson hailed the response from his squad after losing their first game of the tournament, while Laura Bassett said she had to have a smile back on her face after the victory, which was perfect consolation for her own goal against Japan.
