Barcelona have announced a deal to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan.

The European champions have reached an agreement with Atletico and the player, who will be ineligible to play for his new club before their transfer ban is lifted in January.

Turkey captain Turan has signed a five-year contract, while Atletico get 34m euros and the possibility of 7m in add-ons.

The deal has been done by Barca's interim hierarchy ahead of the presidential election later this month, and it includes provision to sell the player back to Atletico before July 20 if the incoming board so wishes.
