Monaco extended their Ligue 1 unbeaten run to six games and claimed their first home win of the season in the process with a slender 1-0 victory over high-flying Angers, while Marseille snatched a vital three points.

Chelsea loanee Mario Pasalic's solitary first-half goal was the difference for the principality club in a scrappy affair that inflicted only a second defeat on the visitors, who would have gone three points clear in second place with a win.

Monaco made the all-important breakthrough on 35 minutes when Lacino Traore flicked on Joao Moutinho's free-kick for Pasalic to tap home and send the hosts up to sixth.

Nice continued a run which has seen them lose just once in seven Ligue 1 matches but were made to settle for a point in a goalless draw with struggling Lille.

Mahamane Traore had the best chance for the hosts but could only head against the crossbar of an open goal with Vincent Enyeama left stranded.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou came back to haunt Nantes by scoring the winner in Marseille's 1-0 Ligue 1 victory at the Stade de la Beaujoire-Louis Fonteneau.
