Jurgen Klopp treats training matches with the same intensity as Champions League games, according to Liverpool youngster Sergi Canos.

Former Borussia Dortmund manager Klopp has made an immediate impact at Liverpool, inspiring a run of five wins from their last six games which has included thumping away victories against Chelsea and Manchester City in the Premier League.

Teenage winger Canos is currently on loan with Brentford in the Championship, but he was summoned back to Melwood for three days of training under Klopp during the last international break.

The Spaniard featured alongside senior stars such as Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino in a training ground friendly against a Wolves XI, and he was impressed by how their charismatic manager approached the game.

"I went back a couple of weeks ago," Canos told Sky Sports ahead of Brentford's clash at Bolton on Monday night. "I did three training sessions with Klopp and I played in a friendly game. It was very good.

"Klopp is a special manager," he added. "He's passionate. When we were playing the friendly game, it was like a Champions League game for him. For me, that matters, the importance he gives every match. Even if it's a friendly or a Champions League game, he treats it the same."
