As well as Northern Ireland's meeting with Poland in Nice, there is also the clash between Germany and Ukraine in Lille.

All three matches are expected to be intriguing affairs and here we take a look at a player expected to feature in each of the fixtures…

Ozan Tufan (TURKEY v Croatia, 2pm, Paris)

Still only 21, Tufan has already cemented his place at the heart of Turkey's midfield and was a key component in their successful qualifying campaign, which saw them condemn the Netherlands to fourth in their group and advance as the best third-placed team.

Since making his international debut against Ireland two years ago, Tufan has completed a 7m euros move from first club Bursaspor to Fenerbahce after they saw off interest in the youngster from rivals Galatasaray and Besiktas. He has continued to progress there and helped his club to a second-place finish last season and a Champions League spot.

Diligent and hard-working, Tufan will be a vital cog regardless of whether coach Fatih Terim goes with a 4-4-1-1 shape or a 4-3-3 system. His versatility has attracted scouts from Manchester United in the past and although he has just one international goal so far, his support play will be crucial in Turkish attacks.

Arkadiusz Milik (POLAND v Northern Irleand, 5pm, Nice)

Poland are a one-man team, right? Not quite. Granted, Robert Lewandowski's goals are vital to their continued success and being without him would leave them at a significant disadvantage but the support he receives should not be understated. Ahead of the qualifying campaign - which saw the Poles advance with Germany automatically- Lewandowski was promised more backing and largely received it from Ajax forward Milik.

While he didn't quite upstage his more revered strike partner, he did net six times in the preliminaries himself and, added to his 24 club goals last term, is a genuine threat in France. With Poland tending to use a 4-4-2 formation, that means if Lewandowski isn't in position to put an opportunity away, the chances are Milik will be lurking instead. Now 22, he trialled with Tottenham as a teenager.

Andriy Yarmolenko (Germany v UKRAINE, 8pm, Lille)

After 16 goals in 32 games for his club side Dynamo Kiev this season, Yarmolenko is likely to be a player many Premier League scouts will have their eye on during the group stages. Previously linked with Everton, his manager Sergei Rebrov claimed last year Manchester United - then managed by Louis van Gaal - had also been interested in signing him.

Now 26, the right winger has been with Kiev since joining them from Desna Chernihiv in 2007 and this summer's tournament may well provide him with a pathway to a higher level at last. With an abundance of pace and skill, the onus will be on him to prise open defences and entertain in tandem. He can finish, too, and a strike rate of 25 goals in 59 international outings - including one in each of their last three matches against Wales, Romania and Albania - is hugely respectable.
