We challenged Matt Le Tissier to provide us with best XI from Tottenham and Manchester City ahead of their Nissan Super Sunday clash.

The Soccer Saturday pundit and Southampton legend has clearly identified contrasting strengths from the two sides, packing his defence with Spurs players and his attack with Pep Guardiola's main threats.

That sees the likes of Harry Kane, who remains sidelined, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and the in-form Heung-Min Son miss out, while Le Tiss has snubbed City captain Vincent Kompany.

Here's his XI in full and his justification...

Le Tiss

Hugo Lloris is one of the Premier League's best and edges Claudio Bravo for me. Bravo is a decent goalkeeper and I think he'll improve as he gets used to the Premier League.

Toby Alderweireld is the first one in the defence for me, he's probably been one of the best defenders in the league since he arrived at Southampton.

Then I've gone for John Stones, who is the future for City and England, over Vincent Kompany, who I can't really evaluate given he's missing so much football.

Then I've gone for Spurs' full-backs, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose. You don't get the same impetus from City's flanks and, as we saw against Celtic, it is as area where this team can get exposed.

In central-midfield I've got Fernandinho, who is having another really good start to the season and has even bagged himself a couple of goals, and Moussa Dembele. Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama were both close but Dembele has more about him on the ball.

Manchester City midfielder David Silva believes they are constantly improving under Guardiola.

Then it's all Manchester City from there. David Silva is one of the most skillful players the Premier League has ever seen and I could watch him all day, while Kevin De Bruyne is going to be sorely missed and has justified his £50m price tag, which isn't easy to do.

Raheem Sterling seems to be shrugging his transfer fee off as well now. He's back in the form of his final campaign at Liverpool and is looking a completely different player to last season.

Then, if I'm going with the same system both sides play and one up top then I'm afraid it's no contest. If you were going to play two up front then Harry Kane would be in there but Sergio Aguero is one of the best strikers in the world.
