Cambridge have goalkeeper Will Norris to thank for their victory over Accrington Stanley after he saved not one but two penalties in injury time on Saturday.
The 23-year-old kept out former Manchester United and Bolton forward Chris Eagles in the first minute of time added on and then repeated the feat when he kept out a Terry Gornell spot-kick.
The U's were winning 2-1 but were down to 10 men when Eagles stepped up for his kick and Shaun Derry's side were further handicapped minutes later when Brad Halliday was shown a red card for punching Matty Pearson's header off the line.
Amidst all the mayhem, Norris kept his concentration to guarantee a much needed victory and three points that sends Cambridge into 19th and leaves Accrington seven places higher in 12th.
Former Accrington player Piero Mingoia struck what proved to be the winner with a stunning volley nine minutes from time after Leon Legge opened the scoring for the home side.
Billy Kee drew Stanley level and manager John Coleman will be ruing the missed penalties that would have clinched victory.
