Sean Dyche insists that his Burnley side will take the positives from their game against Arsenal

Sean Dyche has questioned both the referee and his Burnley defence after Arsenal's controversial late 1-0 win on Nissan Super Sunday.

Laurent Koscielny got on the end of Theo Walcott's flick-on at Turf Moor in the third minute of stoppage time, touching the ball with his right boot before it hit his arm and went over the line.

Burnley felt aggrieved, with the initial effort seemingly heading over the bar, but with Koscielny unmarked in the 93rd minute from a corner after Scott Arfield had moved off the far post, Dyche also had complaints for his defence.

He told Sky Sports: "It isn't ideal, that's for sure. You've got to question the time, question whether the corner should come in, you've got to question whether it's handball because it certainly looks it.

"But you've equally got to question us not dealing with it as well as we should have done, because we've dealt with everything that were thrown at us all afternoon.

"A mixture of question marks with that, but it's a poor way to end the game whichever way you look at it.

"So we're disappointed in that, but obviously really encouraged by the performance. We've taken on one of the superpower clubs and I think we've done a good job, contained them well with energy and organisation."

Arsene Wenger credited his Arsenal team for fighting until the end

"There's no point in trying to take them on at their game, by the way. We wanted to get the ball forward quickly, and wanted to earn the right to score a goal by getting good balls in the box. So I was pleased by that.

"It's a real disappointment for them, the players today, because they've given a lot to that performance

"The mood is not low, we know what the challenge is this season, we've got seven points on the table. It's just one of frustration, because I think they've deserved the right to at least one point.

Burnley's Michael Keane was the man of the match but feels hard done by

"Overall it's a solid start, obviously we know the challenge, we're the minnows of the division and don't have the spending power of everyone else.

"We have got a very good group though, we are learning and showed more balance today, so there's a lot of positives, and there's more to come, but we've got to earn the right as it's a tough division."
