Highlights of the Sky Bet Championship match between Norwich and Ipswich

Ipswich were denied a rare win in the East Anglia derby as Jacob Murphy earned a point for Norwich in their 1-1 draw at Carrow Road.

Jonas Knudsen scored against rivals Norwich for the second time this season to hand the visitors the lead after 63 minutes.

However, after a string of impressive saves from Bartosz Bialkowski, the Ipswich goalkeeper was at fault as Murphy's strike squeezed under his grasp at the near post to level things up.

The draw means Ipswich remain without a win against Norwich since April 2009, although it does somewhat halt their rivals' push for a play-off spot.

Nine shots in the first half for Norwich but none on target summed up a nervy first half for the hosts. And it was the visitors who were denied an early penalty as Mitchell Dijks appeared to grapple David McGoldrick to the ground - but referee Oliver Langford opted to give a free-kick the other direction.

Following chances for Jonny Howson and Cameron Jerome, the closest Norwich came to scoring in the opening 45 minutes was when Knudsen almost inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.

After smart work from Mithcell Dijks down the left, his low cross led to a couple of ricochets, with the last touch from Knudsen heading towards goal. However, Bialkowski was on hand to produce a stunning reaction stop.

Just before the break, Christophe Berra's blushes were spared when a mix-up with his goalkeeper almost handed Jerome an open goal, but it was too narrow an angle for the Norwich striker as he skewed his effort wide.

Dijks seemingly headed Noriwch ahead three minute into the second half, but Langford correctly ruled the goal out with the defender using his arm to turn the ball home.

It was then a tale of two headers, as Jerome's tame attempt one end was followed by Knudsen's opener three minutes later.

Jordan Spence sent in an inch-perfect cross for Knudsen to head back across goal and- nett his first since the return fixture at Portman Road in August.

Ipswich's lead did not last long as Murphy's strike from the edge of the area went under Bialkowski.

The Ipswich 'keeper somewhat redeemed himself with a terrific stop to deny Alexander Tettey, and the visitors held on to earn a valuable point in the 'Old Farm' derby.

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy:

"It was a hard-fought point," McCarthy told Sky Sports after the game. "They probably had more possession but having taken the lead, you see Barts [Bialkowski] take the man-of-the-match award but he's annoyed he didn't stop the shot.

"It was a good performance by us and he continues to be outstanding so we can forgive him."

Norwich boss Alex O'Neil:

"It's disappointing based on how the game was played. I thought we were the better side and had more attempts on goal. Pretty much more of everything.

"Our boys played well but what we lacked was that cutting edge, which has not been the case for us this year. We're one of the better goalscorers in the league."
