Cristiano Ronaldo smashes Jimmy Greaves' all-time goal record

Ronaldo v Greaves

Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo smashed Jimmy Greaves' all-time record of 366 goals in Europe's top five leagues after scoring at Celta Vigo on Wednesday.

Ronaldo netted his 367th and 368th league goals as Los Blancos took a big step towards the title with a 4-1 win at Balaídos.

The 32-year-old forward surpassed the record which has stood for 46 years, despite playing 68 fewer games than Greaves.

Ronaldo started his career in Portugal at Sporting Lisbon, outside of Europe's top five leagues, where he scored three goals before earning a move to Manchester United in 2003.

At United, Ronaldo scored 84 goals in 196 league appearances over six seasons but it wasn't until his £80m move to Real Madrid in 2009 that his goal-scoring ratio soared.
