Barcelona have agreed a contract extension with goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The new deal ties the Germany international to the club until 2022 and includes a buy-out clause at €180m (£156m).

The 25-year-old joined the club from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2014 and has made 93 appearances for Barca and won nine trophies, including two La Liga titles, three Copa del Reys and the 2014/15 Champions League.

A club statement read: "Barcelona has reached an agreement with the player Marc-Andre ter Stegen to extend and improve his contract until 30 June 2022.

"His buy-out clause now stands at €180m. His new contract will be signed on Tuesday 30 May at 1.30pm at the club offices."

In his 93 official matches in goal for Barca he has recorded 71 wins, 10 draws and 12 defeats, conceding a total of 90 goals.
