Arsenal have been drawn in the same group as BATE Borisov, Cologne and Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League.
It is the first time in 20 years that the Gunners, who finished fifth in the Premier League last season, have started a season in Europe's second-tier competition.
Everton are in the same group as Lyon, who host the final on 16 May 2018.
The Toffees will also face Italian Serie A side Atalanta and Apollon Limassol of Cyprus.
Everton, who completed their play-off victory over Croatian side Hajduk Split on Thursday, are in Europe for the first time since 2014-15.
The 48-team draw for this season's competition included Sweden's Ostersund, managed by Englishman Graham Potter, the former Stoke City and West Brom full-back.
Ostersund will play Spain's Athletic Bilbao, Germany's Hertha Berlin and Zorya Luhansk of Ukraine.

Trips to France, Italy and Cyprus, versus journeys including Belarus and Serbia.
But, joking aside, good luck to both the English teams in there, and hope to have more British teams involved next year.
AC Milan, Villarreal, Everton, Hoffenheim. AND the teams that will get knocked out of CL like Tottenham.
On paper they should cruise through this group.
The football world will be cheering on Everton.
Everton-Arsenal final?
But really my top 4 with a good chance are Milan, Arsenal, Lyon and Everton
If he carries on he could be our no:1 International keeper for years to come.
12. I think it's a nicer location to go to, I know where I'd rather take a holiday, for sure. But I agree that they'll have a good experience wherever they go, and do think Arsenal have a pretty straightforward group.
I'm a Gooner and I agree with you wholeheartedly. Why on earth should Arsenal's involvement in this competition be any more important than Everton's? Awful headline.
