Craig Levein's wait to win a major trophy goes on as his Hearts side fell to disappointing 3-0 defeat in the Betfred Cup semi-final.

Losing skipper Steven Naismith to injury early on at Murrayfield seemed to rock Hearts and they were second best throughout the contest.

Although it remained goalless until half-time, Celtic stepped things up in the second half and Scott Sinclair gave the Hoops the lead from the spot after Oliver Bozanic caught Ryan Christie.

A howler from Jambos keeper Zdenek Zlamal when he fumbled a Tom Rogic shot allowed James Forrest to double the advantage and half-time sub Christie then made sure of victory for Celtic with a brilliant third.

Levein's side failed to muster much in response and it was Celtic who could've added to their goal tally.

Craig Swan rated the Jambos on a disappointing day.
