It's Super Sunday in Scotland and we're in for a belter in the second of the games.

Aberdeen and Rangers face off at Hampden and the game earlier this season between the two sides had plenty of talking points.

Alfredo Morelos' early red card put Rangers under pressure before James Tavernier scored from the penalty spot and then Bruce Anderson fired a late equaliser for the Dons to end an exciting opening day of the season.

Fast forward a couple of months and we've got a semi-final between the two sides which should be a great watch.

Steven Gerrard is without a recognised regular striker while Derek McInnes is boosted by the return of Scott McKenna.

So how do our writers view the game going?

KEITH JACKSON

It’s been a difficult season so far for Aberdeen and manager Derek McInnes who may be feeling as if his head is knocking off a glass ceiling. Win this one and the campaign may catch fire. But Rangers are picking up lots of good habits under Steven Gerrard. Losing semi finals at Hampden would not be one of them.

Aberdeen 1 Rangers 2

GAVIN BERRY

The Light Blues lack strikers and the Dons fans seem to lack belief in their side. It doesn’t have the same potential for excitement as the other semi-final but expect Gers to do enough to sneak through.

Aberdeen 0 Rangers 1

GARY RALSTON

Rangers couldn’t score against Spartak with a recognised striker but have better individual talents within their side to make the difference at Hampden even with no Morelos or Lafferty.

Aberdeen 1 Rangers 2

CRAIG SWAN

Rangers are in better form and can overcome the lack of a recognised striker. Aberdeen have toiled for goals away from Pittodrie this season and the Ibrox side might just sneak a tight affair at Hampden.

Aberdeen 0 Rangers 1

ANTHONY HAGGERTY

Rangers look like a team that are buying what Steven Gerrard is selling as they are putting in a shift for their manager. The Light Blues will be determined to steer the Scouser to his first domestic cup final as a boss and for that reason alone Derek McInnes Reds will be cast in the role of nearly men and bridesmaid once again.

Aberdeen 1 Rangers 2

GORDON PARKS

The Dons have been unconvincing this season and there’s little evidence to suggest they can deliver a rare win at Hampden. Even without a recognised striker, Rangers are riding a wave of confidence which will just about be enough.

Aberdeen 0 Rangers 1

DAVID McCARTHY

The Dons haven’t been in the kind of form to suggest they can come to Hampden and win. Rangers’ biggest problem is up front, obviously, and it will be interesting to see how they do without Morelos and Lafferty. They’ve got pace in their team, though, and should have enough about them to go through.

Aberdeen 0 Rangers 2

EUAN McLEAN

Don’t get your hopes up for many goals in this one.

Rangers are missing their dangermen - suspended Alfredo Morelos and cup-tied Kyle Lafferty - while Aberdeen have only managed to score more than one goal on just two occasions this season. Both times against a toiling St Mirren side.

So don’t be surprised by a stuffy encounter that goes beyond the 90 minutes, when Rangers’ exertions on Thursday night could become an issue.

Aberdeen 1 Rangers 1 (Dons to win on penalties)

Michael Gannon

Rangers have major issues up front and Aberdeen will look to frustrate. It could work as well as the Dons are due a huge performance against Gers. It will be tight and tense with not much in it.

Aberdeen 1 Rangers 0
