Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool's owners want manager to sign new deal after Champions League triumph

Liverpool are keen to tie Jurgen Klopp down to an extended contract after the club's Champions League triumph.
Up to 750,000 fans welcomed the Liverpool manager - whose deal ends in 2022 - and his players home on Sunday after the 2-0 win over Spurs in Madrid.
Klopp, 51, also oversaw a league campaign in which Liverpool lost only once to finish second on 97 points.
"Jurgen is a brilliant coach but just as importantly he is a humble and caring man," said chairman Tom Werner.
"When the players threw Jurgen in the air after our victory, they were acknowledging what all Liverpool fans know - he is beloved by all who appreciate football."
- Victory parade - Police say 750,000 fans turned out
- 'Lift-off for Liverpool, a crossroads for Tottenham'
It is their first major trophy since Klopp arrived at Anfield in 2015 and the manager said he was amazed by the turnout for their victory parade.
"I don't know exactly how many people live in Liverpool but it does not look like there is a lot of space for fans of other clubs," he told LFC TV.
"It is incredible. If you are a young kid, which do you support? There are not a lot of opportunities or options other than Liverpool. You see in the eyes how much it means. It is really intense."
Liverpool, who lost last season's final to Real Madrid, won their final nine league games of the season as they recorded the third highest points total since the inception of the Premier League but finished a point behind Manchester City.

Congratulations Liverpool.
Champions of Europe ?
Haven't won their own league for 30 years and never won the PL.

Jealous much? Why not just say "congratulations" instead of trying to be pathetic and spiteful. It's a terrible trait.
Great rapport with the staff and players
Mad as a box of frogs but a manager that every club would want.
Liverpool are lucky to have him

Cool.
I was at the match in Madrid and the atmosphere was electric. Fair play to Liverpool they beat us on the night. No complaints they have had a great season.
Klopp would not be half a successful without players like Mane, Salah, van Dike, & Firminho. He will be exposed by City again next year, and maybe Arsenal if we sack Emory

Do you know how laughable your comment is. Take a breath and read it back to yourself. So, a manager would not be successful without good players?
You don't say. LOL!!!
BTW the world is also round.
Liverpool City Region is the 4th biggest in the UK and is No 11 on the crime list, behind London and Manchester.
Not a single person hurt in a crowd of 750k. From a crime analyst btw.
'He will be exposed by City again next year'
just wondering what league you were watching last year as the majority of people would not class being beating by 1 point by a club with City's resources as being exposed
I say jealous people, not fans, because if they were fans of football they would acknowledge the achievement by LFC (and spurs for that matter).
But their ignorant bitterness shows them up for what they are, uneducated neanderthals. Disappointing really.
